The Three Mistakes Of My ....

Hello everyone!!

Today I'll tell you about an incident or you can say an accident that changed me a lot.
The best day till now of my stay at IIT Roorkee, the day of Elections, 24/08/2014. You will come to know the reasons for it being the best day.

Many of my friends were contesting elections. I simply went and voted as per my choice (as a responsible citizen). During afternoon, when vote counting was going on, we were discussing about the election results. Suddenly, I noticed that the backdoor which was meant for taking tea/snacks etc. was open and no security guard was present over there. I thought of having a sneak-peek and know about the current status of counting. For a moment, it slipped out of my mind that the voting area is a “Restricted Area” – My first mistake. I was standing near the door and asking one of my friends about the vote count, when our Chief Warden noticed me and called me towards him. I was busted. He then asked me for my ID card – My Second Mistake (that I gave him the ID card) - and told that serious action would be taken against me. I was stunned. I requested him, begged sorry but he simply rejected my plea and told me to leave that place. He said he would deal with me later.
Later in the evening, another incident took place. My smartphone fell from a height of around 5 ft and its display went off. Whether it was a mistake or my nervousness, it definitely further added to my worries – My Third Mistake.
Finally at night, the Chief Warden after lot of pleading and begging finally agreed to give back my ID card but not before talking to my parents. He even took an apology letter and strictly warned me of any further such activities.
This day is imprinted in my memory that I can't even forget it after my 4 years stay at IIT.
This day made me realize the importance of following rules and thinking at least a hundred times before breaking any rule. After that day, I was so terrified that for the next few days, I didn't even broke the line in Mess, which otherwise was an everyday thing. It also made me more responsible and careful.
These were the Three Mistakes of my First Month’s Stay at IIT Roorkee.

Hope you’ll learn something from these stupid mistakes. And make my sharing this experience useful.
